MAGNIFICAT

PADRE FORMIGÃO, O APÓSTOLO DE FÁTIMA

Conceived by Vortice Dance Company with the artistic direction of choreographers Claudia Martins and Rafael Carriço, the work is commissioned by the Congregation of the Repairing Sisters of Our Lady of Fatima to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the canonical approval of the Congregation.

For choreographers, the artwork will be another opportunity to make known the life and work of Father Formigão “unique personality in the history of Fatima”.

“Making use of various artistic valences, we intend to underline in this work the importance of Canon Formigão in the history and message of Fatima, since his role stood out from the first contacts and interrogations to the Shepherds, in the investigation and dissemination of the message of Fatima and in the foundation of a religious congregation ”.

It is recalled that in the context of the canonization process, Pope Francis declared Father Manuel Nunes Formigão Venerable on April 14, 2018.

According to Sister Ana Paula Rodrigues Teixeira, Superior General of the Repairing Sisters of Our Lady of Fatima, the show “will highlight three of the main characteristics of our founder: Man of God, Apostle of Our Lady of Fatima and Founder of our Congregation.”.
